It looks like I am getting to be a regular, posting roughly every 3 years. How about that?

I'm writing this while sitting in my recliner chair, and as I look outside, it looks like it might start raining in the next 30 minutes, here in Northern Arizona.

The day after Christmas, I fell early in the morning and fractured the two bones in my lower right leg, where they join the ankle. So it has been a slow winter and spring for me. The bones have healed, but now I am going to physical therapy to gain the strength back in my leg. I'm anxious to get back driving so that I can have my independence back.

In the meantime I spend a lot of time on the internet, mostly watching youtube. It is surprising what you can learn by watching videos. Railroads, construction equipment, milling logs. I even learn something from eBay.

That's it for now.Philhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00159288023048032948noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-899865789428787809.post-59758808385638122332018-03-23T10:55:00.002-07:002018-03-23T10:55:51.019-07:00Update March 2018It's been a long time, but I will try again. Some day I would like to start regular postings, but not yet. Too many things on my plate. Maybe in six months. I don't travel, so it will have to be mostly about hobbies.Philhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00159288023048032948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-899865789428787809.post-7549993875404358452015-11-29T19:02:00.000-08:002015-11-29T19:02:12.915-08:00Another attemptLet's see what happens. I am trying to write a new post, so that this blog doesn't die from lack of use.

Recently, in the past year or two, I have acquired 4 Brother Daisy Wheel Word Processors. They were popular in the 80's, but have been replaced by computers. My interest really began when I bought a Friden Flexowriter from the surplus division of General Electric Computers in 1971. The Flexowriter was basically and IBM 01 electric typewriter, to which Friden added a paper tape punch and reader. You could make a tape which, when fed into the reader, would reproduce the document exactly.

The next time I post, I will explain why I have 5 Brother word processors, 4 are daisy wheel, and one is inkjet.Philhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00159288023048032948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-899865789428787809.post-81931926986566505232011-03-03T20:06:00.000-08:002011-03-03T20:06:13.018-08:00Checking the blog on 3/3/11 and was surprised that somebody had found it. Some day I will have to get serious about this.Philhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00159288023048032948noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-899865789428787809.post-15158744046792001012010-10-21T18:33:00.000-07:002010-10-21T18:33:44.922-07:00BeginningJust signed up for this...don't know if I will do much with it.Philhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00159288023048032948noreply@blogger.com2
